The Best Adults Only Resorts in Cozumel (2024)

Introduction

Let’s take a look at the best adults only resorts in Cozumel!

Cozumel is an island located off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and is known for its beautiful beaches, excellent scuba diving, and vibrant nightlife.

While Cozumel does have a handful of resorts with designated adults only areas like pools, bars, and beaches, there are only two resorts that are truly adults only: Secrets Aura Cozumel and The Explorean Cozumel.

Secrets Aura is larger and more amenity-filled, while The Explorean is more boutique and intimate. So it depends on your preferences.

For travelers prioritizing a child-free vacation in Cozumel, the choices narrow down quickly to just those two resorts! However, I did want to provide a few other options that have adults only pools/areas.

Read on to learn more about the best adults only resorts in Cozumel.

The Explorean Cozumel is an all-inclusive, adult-only boutique hotel located on the south end of Cozumel. Resorts with Adults Only Areas:

Although there are only two true adults-only resorts in Cozumel, several other resorts in the area offer adults-only pools and spa facilities for those looking for a child-free experience. These resorts provide a nice option for travelers who want to enjoy some kid-free time but also stay at a property that allows children.

The following all-inclusive and resorts in Cozumel have designated adults-only areas:

Ventanas Al Mar

Ventanas Al Mar is a smaller boutique resort right on the ocean. It’s breakfast only, so no all-inclusive, and does not allow children under 12 at the resort. Most guests here are couples and singles. The resort has two infinity pools, one of which is adults-only. There is also an oceanfront hot tub exclusively for adults. The intimate setting and adults-only areas make this a great choice for a peaceful, romantic getaway.

Occidental Cozumel

Occidental Cozumel is a family-friendly all-inclusive resort that has a dedicated adults-only pool and spa area called the Royal Club. This exclusive space is for guests 18 and older only. The Royal Club offers a large pool, hot tubs, swim up bar, and luxurious spa. So while kids are allowed at the resort, adults can still enjoy a peaceful retreat in the Royal Club area.

Melia Cozumel is another all-inclusive option with family friendly and adult only areas. Their Level Adults Only section provides an exclusive pool, sun terraces, and The Level Lounge for ages 18 and up. So adults can relax in peace while kids enjoy the family pools and activities. This provides nice flexibility for those looking for a balance.

Conclusion

From lavish all-inclusive resorts like Secrets Aura Cozumel to more intimate boutique hotels like The Explorean, Cozumel has something for every taste and budget. While only two resorts on the island are exclusively for adults, several others offer designated adults-only areas and amenities.

If you want access to kids areas but also a peaceful adults-only space, the best options are Occidental Cozumel, Melia Cozumel, and InterContinental Presidente Cozumel. All have beautiful adults-only pools and lounging areas. Ventanas Al Mar also has an adults only policy for most of the resort.

No matter which style suits you best, Cozumel’s adults-only resorts and amenities ensure a tranquil, romantic escape filled with luxury, natural beauty, and amazing snorkeling and scuba diving. With so many options for a child-free vacation, it’s easy to find your slice of paradise.

  1. My goal is to visit an all-inclusive in Mexico so thanks for your two suggestions. The thought of having food + drinks included seems like a definite cost saver to me! The bonus here is that these two resorts are adults only, so I anticipate no crying or screaming lol!

  2. They all look and sound like nice places it’s hard to choose a favourite, but I think I like the smaller boutique resort of Ventanas Al Mar.

  3. I like that there are resorts out there that understand the needs of adults for relaxation. It’s not because adults don’t like children, but sometimes you don’t want to hear children crying or screaming when you are enjoying the sun or your me time during a special vacation. Of the two adult-only resorts above, I like the Ventanas Al Mar better because it looks secluded and not too big.
